Retreat | Notary at Canyon Cabin
On a sunny but cold Monday, we packed up Sarah’s car with products, flowers and groceries for a two-night stay at Canyon Cabin. The drive was beautiful heading out to the gorge. We made a necessary stop for a beer and a burger at Everybody’s brewing before continuing on to our destination.
The cabin is surrounded by old oak trees. We took in the beauty, unpacked and promptly cuddled up, saving our real work for the next morning. Sarah cooked up a cozy meal and introduced us to her latest British PBS series, Creatures Great & Small.
The fireplace was the most efficient and beautiful source of heat, with a well-supplied wood pile just outside. I even found a snake skin, ( and a spider friend), among the chopped wood.
We used the gorgeous backdrop of Canyon Cabin for some new very special pieces, including a new lamp collection we will be announcing soon. Otherwise, we deeply immersed ourselves in these cozy winter surroundings, took the hint from nature, and really slowed down. For the three of us, it was a potent practice, as we’re used to & very good at working long and hard.
See the recipe of the batch cocktail we made in our previous journal post, A Winter Mule.
Thank you, Canyon Cabin for a beautiful mid-winter stay. We simply adored our time in your warm and beautiful home.
