Our Summer Table
The vision was clear. A table enveloped by trees, a family gathering, a simple, seasonal meal, the flicker of candles and the warm evening breeze.
The perfect Pacific Northwest summer night.
Our summertime table is a celebration of the season. The floral arrangements are wild stems plucked from the yard. Delicate petals of sweet peas and their entangled vines dance on the table top, casting adorable shadows onto the plates and linens below .
The silver is vintage, perfectly worn. The plates are an unpredictable mix of Satin Stone, Sand and Matte Grey. It’s casual, but breathtaking.
Glassware served as drink ware, dessert cups, and impromptu vases. The glean of handblown glass added delicate iridescence to the woodsy backdrop. The Venice Snifter was the star of cocktail hour, while the etched glasses were our trusty water goblets. Mixing these two textured pieces brought such subtle detail to our table.
The night was made up of flower crowns and barefoot walks through the woods. Barking (& begging) dogs and the sounds of chickens in their coop just on the other side of the pasture.
The smallest details make all of the difference. We know this to be true with the perfect glow of our beloved terracotta beeswax candles. A summer table go-to.
I hope you feel inspired to bring your meals to the out of doors this season. May our summer table provoke your own uniquely creative dining.
All food and drink was made and provided by Aleya Burg ~ don’t worry, the chef and menu will be getting their very own journal post this month. Stay tuned.
