A Coastal Autumn : Behind The Scenes
The Notary team welcomed in the new season at the coast during the Autumn Equinox. Unsurprisingly I imagine, we curated the coziest Coastal Autumn experience complete with apple crisp, cashmere scarves, homemade pizza and a visit to the local thrift shop. Here's a behind the scenes look of how our team ushered in a sunny, coastal Autumn
Returning to the coast this season evokes a completely different mood than a summertime visit. The sun was more deeply golden, the breeze had more of a bite, and we all jumped at the chance to pile into cozy blankets and sweaters with our morning coffee while Sarah made crepes
Sarah's coastal studio is still a work in progress, but only barely. The small details are being brought together and while we were on the beach we foraged a beautiful dried bundle of plants that now adorn the studio's crisp walls.
We bundled in our sweaters, wrapped ceramics in scarves, and filled a handmade jug with wine before venturing down to the beach. Kris, carried her camera in hand and had just the sweetest ideas for this shoot that I cannot wait to share
For lunch we toasted up thick slices of sourdough and sliced the last of the late summer tomato harvest from Paul's garden. His basil crop has been explosive this year, so we tore up handfuls of basil to top our toasts, finishing it off with balsamic vinegar and flaky salt. Meanwhile, Ella began chopping apples for a crisp.
While the crisp baked and Sarah and Blake began on dinner, Kris and I set out to create an Autumn tablescape. We used green gourds, dried wild-foraged florals and many, many candles.
We ate pizza, drank Prosecco and ended the night with a game. We woke the next morning, on the Autumn Equinox, to the smell of coffee brewing. After we each poured a cup or made our tea, we bundled up in Sarah's room where we chatted about the day ahead: breakfast & thrifting before packing up and heading home
Until next time, Rockaway.
xx,
Roe
