Notary Summer : Behind the Scenes

Only could this Notary Ceramics team plan a styled shoot that includes tree climbing, berry picking, an alfresco dinner of fresh crab, pasta and homemade ice cream...probably. Sure, we gathered to capture photos of our latest products, but what we actually captured was the love that makes this little business thrive. Ella, Kris and I made the gorgeous journey out to Rockaway on Thursday and we were greeted by Sarah, her family and their perfectly charming beach house. Out here is where Sarah has been working on her coastal studio space, complete with her wheel, kiln, and claw foot bathtub.
What makes Sarah's beach home so special are the little pockets that illustrate the life that this sweet family lives. Yes, we love a minimal aesthetic, but we also love a home that is loved. Here's a sweet look at what I mean.
Hidden little treasures are everywhere. While the warm wooden details and soft walls are gentle and sophisticated, nothing is too precious. You're invited to rest your bare toes up on the coffee table in the morning and add the shells you find on the beach to any nook or cranny you might find.
Sarah, naturally, made us fresh pasta and outrageously delicious cookies. We set a beautiful table and cracked open the crabs Paul had gotten up early to catch for us.  We walked their sleepy street and picked blackberries, blueberries and even huckleberries. The girls climbed trees and we ran along the beach, where we caught a glimpse of whales from the shore
Sarah and her family are simply the best hosts. Thank you for having us in your home and feeding our bellies are hearts so well. Thank you, too, to our amazing friend and photographer, Kris!!
We adore you, @krisleboeuf
