Fern Shop

Since I was a flower girl far before I discovered my love for clay, I cant help but fall deeply in love with shops that have a floral and plant focus.

When megan reached out to me about carrying my work in her dreamy green and white space in Cincinnati Ohio i was thrilled. She has created a lovely environment to shop and be inspired. I am grateful that she took an interest in my work and I love the way it looks in her shop!

Dream studio

Dreaming of a light filled studio with big windows and copious amounts of fresh air. I have been working in my basement studio for two years and I am ready for a change. Here's what I'm thinking.....

Heart coffee for Valentines day

Not only am I a sucker for good coffee, I am an even bigger fan of beautiful branding. Heart coffee has figured out a way to create amazingly delicious coffee blends while staying true to the paired down, scandinavian aesthetic within their retail stores and througout thier branding and packaging.

It has been a goal of mine to somehow team up with this forward thinking company and Valentines day seemed like just the occasion. After all, the name HEART just lends itself to this day of love and passion.

We created a washed out blush glaze, and a smaller 10 oz version of the simple notary coffee mug with a slighly flared in lip and the classic Notary handle. The cups were then dipped in glaze to reveal the potters finger marks at the bottom of each cup. A tiny signature and proof that each item was made by hand.

Heart is offering a limited run of their 12oz bag of Colombia La Morelia and one Notary mug from February 7-15, for $30. If you are in Portland this set is available in both of their retail spaces, and if you are elsewhere it can be found on their website https://www.heartroasters.com/

Winter in the NW

IMG_2049.JPG

Portland winters are generally pretty mild. This means grey skies, lots of rain and generally, above freezing temperatures. This winter has been the exception! We have already had roughly 8 snow days-school cancelled, buses not running, trains derailed, and a host of other chaotic events. Portlanders and the transplants that make up this wonderful city seem to panic in this weather. This is why I generally try to stay home and stay off of the roads.

So in order to stay sane we make a lot of hot cocoa, cookies, soups and crafts. It also is a great time to hunker down into my cozy little studio and make pots.

How are you enjoying your slower winter days?
